One of ALFA’s ongoing goals is to minimize the environmental impact of its operations through:
- Compliance with environmental regulations in the countries where we operate.
- Promote the continuous improvement of our operations’ environmentally friendly practices and procedures.
- Make investments to prevent, reduce, or eliminate negative impacts on nature.
- Strengthen environmental related matters in our daily activity.
- Respond in a timely and responsible manner to address incidents that may represent a risk to the environment.
- Contribute to improve the environmental performance of the value chain.
- Promote an environmentally conscious culture among employees and the community.
Main lines of actions
We are committed to seeking initiatives for energy eco-efficiency and reduction of carbon emissions in our operations that contribute to limiting global warming.
We promote the efficient use of this vital resource in our companies, especially in the current conditions of scarcity and shortage at a global level.

Each of ALFA company makes its environmental commitments public as defined in its ESG policies and annual sustainability reports, as well as commitments from international initiatives such as The Climate Registry, CDP, Science Based Targets Initiative, Global Compact, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

CONSUMO ENERGÉTICO
Los diferentes programas e iniciativas implementados por ALFA y las Unidades de Negocio lograron reducciones de cerca de 55,000 GJ en diversos procesos. Esto representa el consumo de 1,304 casas en un año (cálculo de la EPA).

DESEMPEÑO CDP
ALFA y las Unidades de Negocio participan en la iniciativa de evaluación internacional CDP. A nivel consolidado ALFA mantuvo su calificación C para las categorías de Cambio Climático y Agua, y las Unidades de Negocio mejoraron las suyas.
