Memories that unite us: celebrating 50 years of history

To commemorate the stories that have made us who we are today, we put together the “Memories that unite us” exhibit.

ALFA celebrated its half-century anniversary in a unique and meaningful way. We launched the “Memories That Unite Us” initiative, inviting employees, former employees, executives, and their families to share items that reminded us of special moments that have shaped their lives and our history.

Each of the items they shared reflects the threads that have woven our identity as a company. For example, the exhibition includes the slide rule used by Mr. Camilo Sada, Hylsa’s first CEO, as well as the 30th and 50th anniversary medals from that company. It also includes the personal note that Mr. Bernardo Garza Sada shared after the restructuring and debt repayment of ALFA in 1987.

The exhibit also highlights ALFA’s legacy across family generations. For instance, we received the 20th-anniversary recognition from Cartón Titán awarded to Carolina Martínez’s father, along with the SER Nova magazine publication from when she was born, showing her as a new member of the Recreational Center for employees and their families.

Another example is the 30th-anniversary ring from Hylsa belonging to Cindy González’s father, Cindy has now worked at ALFA for 14 years. There are also photographs of Guillermo de la Garza receiving his loyalty award for 25 years of service in 2019, and his father, Guillermo Javier de la Garza, accepting his own award for 30 years of service in 1998.

We also had a collection of loyalty awards for 25, 30, 35, and 45 years, as well as the only award given for 50 years of service at the company, which belongs to Leopoldo Salinas. We received various awards and photographs from off-site gatherings or artistic contests, as well as photographs and IDs from Nova, including those of some colleagues and their parents.

Each item, photograph, document, and recognition is a testament to dedication, effort, and passion. We received more than 250 memories, which we organized by decades and collections such as: Don Roberto Garza Sada – founder of ALFA -, ALFA Cultural Center, Loyalty Recognition, office supplies, Nova, publications, and personal development, among others.

Those moments and each person who has been part of the teams that have shaped our culture, overcome obstacles, and driven innovation.
Therefore, as we explore the memories that unite us, we recognize those who have left their mark on our journey.

Thank you to everyone who shared their memories with us!
